Priv.-Doz. DDr. Albrecht was born in Salzburg, where he graduated at the Borromäum Private High School in 1999. He completed his medical studies under minimum time at the Medical University of Vienna. His interest in regenerative therapies of joints started early. During his additional cell biology studies, which he completed with distinction at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Salzburg in 2009, he was already intensively involved in the topic of cartilage regeneration. In 2009, he also started his residency at the University Department of Trauma Surgery at Vienna General Hospital. From the beginning, he was very active in the special outpatient clinic for cartilage damage and focused on minimally invasive procedures such as arthroscopic surgery on the knee joint and regenerative therapies. After completing his residency in 2015, he was awarded the title of "Assistant Professor" by the Medical University of Vienna in the same year. One year later, he habilitated at the Medical University of Vienna as a private lecturer. As the head of the research laboratory and the cartilage regeneration working group at the University Department of Trauma Surgery at Vienna General Hospital for many years, he is extremely committed to science and the author of a large number of publications in internationally renowned journals. In the course of his professional career, he has won numerous national and international research awards. In March 2022, Priv.-Doz. DDr. Christian Albrecht was appointed to the head of the I. Orthopedic Department at the Orthopedic Hospital Vienna Speising.

Due to his specialization in the treatment of knee disorders and cartilage damage, he is able to offer state-of-the-art treatment in this field.

His specialties include: minimally invasive/arthroscopic surgery for meniscus tear and cruciate ligament tear, treatment of cartilage damage and osteoarthritis (regenerative procedures, bone marrow stimulation, cartilage cell transplantation, artificial joint replacement), minimally invasive surgery for instability of the kneecap.
